GIE has as main goal to actively contribute to the integration process of the European Union and to promote the humanist values, the European values, by educational actions, cultural actions or other types of actions (training, socio-economical activities, etc. adequate to its aim).

GIE's areas of specific expertise and competence are Life Long Learning applied research, field research, comparative studies, development & implementation of strategies and methodologies for Lifelong Learning.

Concerning the activity at European level, GIE was involved in different cooperation projects, centered on various themes: education (www.btos.eu), culture (www.deeside.ac.uk/cyril), gender mainstreaming (http://www.gender-equality.webinfo.lt/), religion, social integration of the elderly people, implementation of the acquis, parent education, communication, social and professional re-insertion of the ex-inmates (http://ETI7.EUproject.org), etc.

Within these projects GIE acted as coordinating institution or as partner, performing specific activities in the target field of the respective projects, in accordance with the work plan (surveys, field research and analysis, data collection and processing, curriculum design, training courses, development of dissemination materials, etc.).
